Adams County
|
|
There are many children in our community who need safe, nurturing families who will host and support them as a foster family or provide a permanent home through adoption.
In Adams County, 600 to 800 children are in the foster care system each month. At any given time, 40 - 50 children are available for adoption in Adams County. We ask that you answer our call for help.
We are convinced that if the people in our community understand that they do not have to be perfect to be a perfect parent, they'll realize they do have what it takes to be foster or adoptive parents. From infants and toddlers to youth and teens, each child deserves someone to take care of them and a loving place to call home. Together, we can make a difference.
On behalf of our children, thank you!

On average, there are more than 1,000 children combined in out-of-home care and 60 children awaiting adoption in Arapahoe and Jefferson County at any given time.
The children needing adoptive families are generally older and have been in foster care for some time awaiting a permanent adoptive home. Foster families are also needed to care for children temporarily with the possibility of adopting if those children become legally freed for adoption.

Colorado Family Services
|
|
Colorado Family Services (CFS) is an Evangelical Christian oriented Child Placement Agency. We are licensed by the Colorado Department of Human Services to license foster and adoptive homes. Our emphasis is coordinating foster-adoptions and writing S.A.F.E Home Studies. We provide foster care and adoptive care in most parts of Colorado.
For a foster adoption in conjunction with a county department of social services, the only fee we charge is to cover background checks and the textbook for CPR and First Aid. Thus a typical foster adoption is usually $150.00 or less. Our services include core training (16 hours of face-to-face training is required). We also have 4 - 5 hour trainings throughout the year as well as CPR and First Aid on a quarterly basis. We also license people to be foster parents.

Denver County
|
|
Our Mission:
To protect Denver's children and youth through services, advocacy, and respect for diversity, while promoting family stability and strengthening family connections to community resources.
All Child Welfare services are consolidated within the Child Welfare Division of the Denver Department of Human Services. This Division has been accredited by the Child Welfare League of America since 1946.
Our goal is to work cooperatively with families and to provide services to keep families together. Working in collaboration with community agencies, the Denver Police Department and Denver Juvenile Court, all allegations of child maltreatment are addressed through services designed specifically to identify and to protect victims from further abuse. These services often include substance abuse and mental health treatment for parents and children, day treatment, home-based services, and sexual abuse treatment. The Department provides temporary placement of a child out of the child’s home when needed, and works toward a permanent plan for that child.
The Child Welfare Division is comprised of five major sub-divisions: Intake, Child Protection, Youth Services, Operations, and Resources, coordinating services such as foster care, kinship care, adoption, etc.

Hope & Home
|
|
As a nondenominational Christian charity, Hope & Home trains and actively supports foster families who feel compelled by Christ’s command to take care of “the least of these.” Abused and neglected children get a stable and nurturing family to live with until it’s safe to go home again, or—when that safety isn’t possible—a family to give them a “forever home” through adoption, as more than 180 of our children have found. Our motto is, “At Hope & Home, you’re either a foster parent or supporting someone who is.” Our parents benefit from our unique “Love to Nurture” parenting classes, the care of a large, devoted staff (including a dedicated home supervisor) and a community of more than 500 people that champions them and lifts them up through donations, volunteerism and prayer. Families form close friendships through our choice of eight monthly support groups (childcare provided!), and numerous activities such as the Summer O’ Fun series of themed picnics; the Royal Family Christmas Pageant; Bell of the Ball Tea; Lemonade Brigade 5K Walk/Run/Fun!; our annual fashion show and more. We also offer a Foster Parent Rewards Program, and a well-appointed facility complete with gym, coffee bar, parent lounge, park/playground, and on-site visitation center. All of this results in foster families who feel truly valued, enjoy more successful placements of children, and count foster care among the greatest blessings in their lives. Call today to schedule a tour and interview—we’d love to talk to you!

Larimer County
|
|
Larimer County family foster homes provide temporary care for children from infancy through age 18 who have been temporarily removed from their families due to physical, sexual or emotional abuse, parent neglect, or the inability of the parent to care for the child.
These foster parents offer companionate day to day support and care until the child can either reunite with his or her birth family, be placed with extended family, find an adoptive family, or transition to independent living.
The Foster Care Program provides recruitment, training, certification and retention services for family foster care providers and adoptive families.
Adoptive families have the love, attitude, stamina and support to develop skills to effectively deal with the many behaviors and feelings displayed by children and youth. Services and support are provided to adoptive families to help the child/children transition to their forever family.

Open your mind, Open your heart, Then Open your door...to a child.
With you as a specialized foster parent/family, you and your family become the most important, positive influence in a child’s chaotic life. By giving of yourself, the child will learn that there is a safe family to count on. This unconditional security is something most of our foster children may have never had. This is not an easy job. Parenting never is. But with our intense, ongoing foster family training and unlimited support, everyone can succeed. Adoptive families provide love, discipline, direction, and support to the children placed in their homes. Providing this care helps children develop both a positive self-image and the necessary skills to function independently and make positive contributions to their community.
Won't you be the healing family that every child deserves?

Often we think of orphans as children who live in third world countries, those whose images we see on television or in the newspaper. But they’re not just around the globe, they’re also right here in our own backyard. On any given day in South Florida, there are three to four thousand “temporary orphans” in foster care, some of whom are awaiting permanent adoptive homes. From the moment children are removed from their families, we meet their needs by demonstrating the love of God. Our goal is to protect, provide, and offer permanent solutions for these children and their families so they can have a hope-filled future.

Homes of Hope at Place of Hope

|
Homes of Hope seeks to mobilize the faith community to support hurting children and families throughout the region. The primary goal of the initiative is to provide support to the local child welfare community by recruiting local churches and people of faith as partners to:
1. Recruit, train, and retain potential foster and adoptive families;
2. Provide material, emotional, and spiritual support to those families and their children;
3. Involve the community of faith in the overall system of care for our neediest children.
Specifically, Homes of Hope offers everything from the state-mandated class required for foster and adoptive parents through licensing and home studies to the placing of children in foster care in a family’s home. Homes of Hope staff also support the foster and adoptive families throughout the foster care and adoption process as well as after adoption with support groups and services. At Homes of Hope, the goal is to offer a safe, nurturing home for children that need a temporary or forever home.

Families First

Families First is a Child Placing Agency providing foster care, foster to adopt, and adoption services. We have a contract with the DHR Permanency Unit to recruit and work with prospective adoptive families. We provide: orientation, IMPACT training, home study assessments, matching and placement services, post-placement supervision, and assist the family until the adoption legally finalizes.
We work hard to recruit families who are able and willing to accept sibling groups, school aged children, and teens. Because children and youth in foster care have experienced trauma, interested families must be willing to engage in therapy.
Families who do not identify a child(ren) in GA are welcome to search in other states. Families First also offers: domestic infant, independent, and international adoption services.
Not only do we have a long history of working in adoption, our Adoption Social Workers are very experienced. We are passionate about the work we do and look forward to having the opportunity to share in a family’s adoption journey. Together, we work to change lives in positive ways. We need YOU!

Georgia DHS, Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS)
|
|
Recognizing that children deserve safe, loving and nurturing relationships with permanent families, DFCS and its partners will provide a continuum of available, accessible and effective services that enable and support the placement of children in adoptive families.
Adoption is a lifelong commitment, and for this reason, the Georgia Department of Human Resources (DHR) provides adoption services that span a child’s life. These include helping each child find a loving family, as well as providing a host of support services for the children and their families after an adoption takes place. Every county in Georgia has a local DFCS office dedicated to finding loving homes for the numerous children in permanent state custody who are available for adoption.

Georgia DHS, Wednesday's Child
|
|
Freddie Mac Foundation's Wednesday's Child – an Emmy-nominated program with a proven track record of success – is part of the Freddie Mac Foundation's national campaign to increase adoptions of children. Each week, a child in foster care who is awaiting adoption is featured on the local evening news. During a segment hosted by a popular local newscaster, viewers are encouraged to learn more about helping these children find homes and a phone number is provided.
The children who are featured are usually the most difficult to place since they are often older, in sibling groups, and may have health and developmental needs. The Freddie Mac Foundation's Wednesday's Child program started in the Washington, DC metropolitan area in 1992, a partnership with NBC-4 and the Council of Governments. Its phenomenal success there encouraged the Freddie Mac Foundation to expand the program nationwide. Freddie Mac Foundation's Wednesday's Child is now shown in five cities: DC, New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Philadelphia.

Georgia Family Council
|
|
For 20 years, Georgia Family Council has been a voice for families throughout our state. We believe that a strong family is where human well-being begins.
Practical experience and research have proven that healthy marriages and strong families are essential for a society to thrive. We know that children who grow up in intact families are more likely to succeed in school, stay out of legal trouble, hold down decent jobs, and be better off emotionally and physically. We also know that most adults are happiest and healthiest in a strong marriage.
Strong families matter to our community and our state. That’s why we are contending for the things that matter most, including working with lawmakers to make adoption safer in Georgia. We have a team of experts working for responsible government, stronger families and meaningful education reform.

Promise 686
|
|
Promise686 is an adoption and foster care ministry serving the metro Atlanta area. Our mission is to mobilize and serve Christian families to meet the needs of the “fatherless” both here and abroad. We achieve this by reducing barriers for families called to adopt or foster. Promise686 provides education, prayer support, consulting with potential adoptive or fostering families and financial and legal assistance to Christians living in the metro Atlanta area. Through our partnership with Perimeter Church and FaithBridge Foster Care, we also offer the training required to foster or adopt a waiting child as well as a community of support to foster and adoptive families, assisting with meals, babysitting, respite care, prayer, transportation, tutoring and other practical needs. We are a relatively young ministry that grew out of a church-based ministry at Perimeter Church and are more than happy to share with others wishing to begin a similar ministry in their own church or community.

D.A. Blodgett – St. John's
|
|
D.A. Blodgett - St. John’s Special Needs Adoption Program’s objective is to recruit, train and prepare adoptive families for children who have been referred to us by the foster care system. All of the children we place for adoption have been removed from their birth parents due to some type of abuse or neglect. “Special needs” doesn’t necessarily mean a child with mental or physical disabilities; it simply means a child who has been through the foster care system. Most of our children have some emotional, psychological, educational, or physical challenges, resulting from this abuse or neglect. Our greatest need is for families that are willing and able to adopt an older child (over age 8), children of any race and larger sibling groups (three or more children). The SNAP provides free training, family assessments, placement assistance and post placement supervision to any family who adopts through this program. Some children placed for adoption through this program qualify for adoption subsidy from the state which may include a monetary stipend or assistance with medical expenses.

Cradles of Grace, Inc./Resurrection Life Church
|
|
The mission of Cradles of Grace is to care for single pregnant women, encouraging life transformation through the love of Christ.
Cradles of Grace makes a way for women to choose life over abortion by walking with her during her pregnancy and giving her the support she needs. We do this by offering her counseling, which is a one on one weekly meeting with a professional Biblical counselor to help guide the woman in her decision to parent or release the child for adoption. Cradles of Grace also pairs up the young woman with a Christian woman, trained as a mentor to help her set goals and guide her to successful, productive living in Christ. Several churches have opened up their doors to us providing church based centers which are a weekly place for the clients to gather. We offer free childcare, a time of praise, worship and fellowship with other mothers in similar circumstances, a free family style meal, and a broad variety of classes that include sexual integrity and various Bible studies.
Cradles of Grace is an equipping ministry for the body of Christ. We work within the church as a partner to better equip them to walk with single pregnant families. 90% of the women who complete the Cradles of Grace program experience life transformation in Christ which impacts women and their families for eternity and brings about permanent generational change.
